About Milestone Drywall
Finishing walls and ceilings across Calgary since 2012.
Milestone Drywall started in Calgary in 2012. Fourteen years later we’re still doing the same thing, which in this trade is worth more than it sounds: drywall crews come and go with the building cycle, and a company that has been finishing walls in this city since 2012 has worked through every kind of market Calgary has had since.
In that time the work has covered most of what gets built here. Duplexes and infills. Single-family homes, from basement developments to whole-house renovations. Custom builds, where the finish has to survive being looked at closely. Commercial projects and tenant improvements on someone else’s schedule. Different jobs with different tolerances the same sequence underneath.
Why one crew does the whole thing
Most drywall problems don’t start at the drywall. They start at framing that wasn’t quite square, a vapour barrier that wasn’t sealed properly at the penetrations, or a second coat that went on before the first had cured. By the time a crack shows in your ceiling, the trade that caused it finished up months ago.
So we do the whole sequence ourselves steel stud framing, T-bar, insulation and paper barrier, board, tape, texture, sanding, touch-ups and the clean-up at the end. One crew, one point of contact, and nobody to point at when something isn’t right.
What “quality” actually means here
Every contractor says they do quality work, so the word is close to meaningless on its own. What it means for us is specific and mostly invisible: coats that get the time they need rather than the time the schedule wants, vapour barrier detailed properly at every outlet and pipe, and walls checked under raking light before we call them finished because that is the light that finds what overhead light hides.
It also means telling you which finish level a room actually needs. The industry grades drywall from Level 0 to Level 5, and most residential work stops at Level 4. For most rooms that is the right call. But a wall that catches low sun from a window, or takes a gloss paint, will show every seam at Level 4 once the light moves across it.
Working with us
Every job starts with a walkthrough. We measure, talk through the finish level and the timeline, and send a written estimate with the scope itemised. Free, no deposit, no obligation.
What we work on
Different jobs, different tolerances, the same sequence underneath.
Duplexes & infills
Party walls, shared assemblies and the sound detailing that comes with them.
Single-family homes
Basement developments, whole-house renovations and repair work.
Custom builds
Where the finish has to survive being looked at closely, in good light.
Commercial
Tenant improvements and build-outs, on someone else’s schedule.
Every contractor says “quality”. Here is what we mean by it.
Coats that get the time they need rather than the time the schedule wants. Vapour barrier detailed properly at every outlet and pipe. Walls checked under raking light before we call them finished, because that is the light that finds what overhead light hides. And telling you which finish level a room actually needs, rather than quoting the cheapest one and letting you discover the difference after the painters leave.
